Pond Life Deer Bear

Ok, not exactly "wild life" - but cows are an integral part of country living.
I woke up that particular morning to find an entire herd had moved on to "greener pastures" - my front lawn.  My dog, Max, was not amused, as you will hear.

Pond Life: Frogs singing in the spring time.

Spring has arrived at Fox Run Farm.  The blackbirds are back and welcoming the warm days to come.  Buds are peeking out at the end of the branches of the maples and aspens and the frogs have crawled out of the mud to call to their mates in their annual ritual that is eons old.  Enjoy their songs.

Deer Videos.

Through the early morning fog at Fox Run Farm appears a fawn trailing his mother.

Same fawn, just a little while later, with the sun now having burnt off the fog,m grazing just a few yards from his mother in our back yard.

The Bear - Video 1

This is a brief video of a bear we have been seeing at Fox Run Farm in June/July of 2008. We believe this is a two year old that was born on the farm, about 100 yards from our house. Since he/she(?) is now 2, it is time that Mama "kicks him/her out to be on his/her own". We estimate the bear in this video weighs about 200 pounds. His so very lack of fear of us is another reason we believe he was born right here - he's use to seeing us!

The Bear - Video 2(continued).

This was recorded a few minutes after the first video. I was actually able to record about 5 minute+ long videos and snap 16 pictures. This guy hung around for quite a while. The whining in the background is our dog, Max, with Kevin trying to keep him quiet so as not to scare the bear away.
